Stages

A stage is one room or camera. Only a stage with an enabled secret can publish.

New stage

Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. The stage name is public: it becomes the playback URL and the recording folder. The secret is generated for you.

Connection

OBS Server OBS Stream Key Playback (HLS)

The Stream Key contains the secret — give it only to whoever operates the encoder. The playback URL carries no secret and is safe to share with viewers. Leave "Use authentication" unticked in OBS.

Publishing

Rotating replaces the secret and keeps everything else. Revoking blocks new publishes until enabled again. Deleting removes the stage; its recordings and clips stay. None of these interrupt an encoder that is already connected.
